The Merle Towers, a 12th century citadel, tower over the river Maronne on the border between Limousin, Aquitaine and Auvergne. This medieval Limousin gem is made up of a fortress in a 10 hectare park, the reenactment of an old farm, a medieval plant garden and it also includes « la Maison Madège” : an archaeological exhibition and a scale model. The Merle Towers boutique is open in July and August and special summer events take place.
Open from April 10th to November 6th.. Open every day in July and August: guided tours take place at 11am, 3pm and 5pm (you can also tour on your own.) In April, May, June, September and during the French “Toussaint” holidays– open every day from 2pm to 6pm. In low season : unguided tours (for guided tours please contact us to book.) Adult's rates : 7 to 8 €. Children’s rates: 4;50 to 5;50 € and group rates : 6 € (free for children under the age of 6). Last visitors must arrive 1 hour before closing time.
