Cloître de la cathédrale

Enter the cloister of the Notre-Dame de Tulle cathedral and be inspired by the calm and serenity that emanates from this place in the heart of the city. This 13th century Gothic building, together with the church, was once the heart of Tulle's Saint-Martin Abbey. Walk through the "gallery of angels" with its sculpted vaults, and enter the chapter house. It has an exceptional mural decoration: two 14th century paintings representing the Last Supper and the Entry of Christ into Jerusalem. In the west gallery, discover the Cloister Museum which houses the art and history collections of the city of Tulle. Protected as Historic Monuments in 1840 and 1862, the cloister galleries offer a mixture of 13th century Gothic elements and reconstructions from the late 19th century.
